The Company was originally sited in Exning village, later moving to its current location a much larger, purpose built premises, set amongst pleasant countryside surroundings on the outskirts of Newmarket.(We can be easily reached from the A14 at junction 37, see map). The new premises incorporates a pleasant reception area, a tow bar fitting workshop and storeroom.
Anglia Towbars (Newmarket) Limited is a growing company and is a NTTA Quality Secured Accredited member. The owner and Managing Director, Gavin Mayes, is a well respected Senior Technician in his own right, and known by many main dealerships in the area. He is personally skilled at tow bar and electrical fitting as well as the newer specific wiring systems, having had over 7 years experience in this field.
Due to the Company’s growing reputation of quality workmanship above all, a majority of our work is gained from ‘word of mouth’ and referrals. We are often used or recommended by large dealerships like Elms BMW, the Marshalls Motor Group, local Mercedes dealerships, the Vindis Group and the EMG Motor Group
We stock a selection of all major manufacturers tow bars at competitive prices, different types are available; Swan neck fixed, Flange fixed, Swan Neck detachable and Flange detachable.
We now sell a range of small, single axle Erde trailers at competitive prices and service and repair all types of trailers. Due to a recent growing demand, we also stock all major makes of cycle carriers as well as other towing accessories.
As NTTA Quality Secured Accredited members, we aim to provide the best quality and workmanship for every fitting we undertake, and can guarantee each product that we use.
Vehicles can be either left with us for a fitting or fitted while you wait, but appointments must be made for either option in advance.
We try to advise customers about the most suitable tow bar for each particular vehicle and the wiring system requirements. There is a quote page where on line quotes can usually be returned within 24 hours (except weekends).
We do have a mobile fitting service available at an extra cost, depending on the area, and operates within a 20 mile radius from our base at Newmarket. A well equipped van is used specifically for this service.
We are a NTTA* Quality Secured and Accredited establishment.(* The National Trailer and Towing Association). As members of the N.T.T.A., we are subject to their high standards, practices and regulations, and have annual inspections which cover all our work practices as listed below. This inspection also includes staff training and assessments. Our fitters regularly attend the N.T.T.A. training courses which bring them up to date with the latest technologies, this is especially important given the complexity of modern cars.

Our Company’s premises is made up of a Reception and waiting area, a stockroom and a workshop where the actual fitting takes place.
The Reception area also incorporates a warm waiting room with a W.C. There is also the facility to make a hot drink while you wait, but do bring a newspaper to read, or use your laptop as we have wireless internet access.
The rest of the building is divided into a stock room for tow bars, trailers and cycle carriers etc and a much larger area which is the tow bar fitting workshop.
The workshop is large, light and spacious, being well laid out and equipped for maximum efficiency.
Our fitters aim to provide a clean and efficient service to every customer and take great care to ensure that all vehicles are returned in the same condition that they are received. They are also able to offer advice on the most suitable tow bar or electrical system for each customer’s individual requirement, coupled with the type of vehicle they have.
Vehicles are either fitted while you wait, or can be left in a secure area while waiting for work to be carried out later that day. By arrangement we can occasionally keep them overnight locked in our workshop.
