Anglia Towbars (Newmarket) Limited is a new and growing company, thriving on the long lasting reputation and quality of Anglia Towbars Limited, which was established more than 25 years ago, and then managed by the original founder Stan Cousins, now retired.
The new Managing Director and owner, Gavin Mayes, is a well respected Senior Technician in his own right, having worked for the original company for several years and is well known by all the dealerships in our area. He is personally skilled at fitting the new wiring systems, with experience gleaned over the past years.
The company was originally sited in Exning village and later moving to its current location which has a much larger, purpose built premises. It is set amongst pleasant countryside surroundings on the outskirts of Newmarket and within easy reach of the A14 at junction 37. The new buildings incorporate a pleasant Reception area, a tow bar fitting workshop and store.
Due to the Company’s growing reputation of efficient quality workmanship, a majority of work is received ‘by word of mouth’ and referral and we are often used by large local firms, like the Marshalls Motor Group, Elms BMW, the Vindis Group, Cambridge Mercedes and the EMG Motor Group.
Vehicles can be left in a secure area while work is being carried out, and collected later whenever convenient. If customers wish to wait in the reception area they can make themselves a drink, catch up on work or read. By arrangement we can offer to drive customers into town to do some shopping while they wait, arrange this when booking in.
Within the large, modern, well equipped workshop our fitters aim to provide a clean, efficient service, taking great care to ensure that all vehicles are returned to customers in the same condition that they are received, and can offer advice on the best tow bar for the vehicle.
We hold a large selection of competitively priced tow bars in our capacious stock room with quality names like Witter and Brink. Our suppliers give us a quick and efficient service, which means we can order tow bars that are not stock items for almost any type of vehicle without having to wait very long.
A mobile tow bar fitting service is available within a 25 mile radius of our base. A well equipped van is currently used for mobile fitting and used specifically for this purpose.
Unfortunately, at the present time, we no longer sell trailers and accessories, but can do the servicing of light trailers and also minor repairs. Please speak to Gavin.
Our tow bar fitters have a vast experience of their trade, having worked on all types of vehicles over the years and taking pride in their workmanship; ensuring that ‘the customer always leaves completely satisfied’.
As a Quality Secured establishment our work is covered by the code of practice, and as approved members of N.T.T.A. we have annual inspections covering our workshop and premises, the vans, health and safety and staff training.
